Everett LaRoi is a veteran Canadian singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and award-winning film composer based in Edmonton, Alberta. With a career spanning over 25 years, he is widely recognized as a foundational figure in the Alberta folk rock and alternative roots music scenes. He is best known for fronting several prominent Canadian bands, including the post-punk and indie-rock outfit Idyl Tea, as well as ManRayGun and Goldtop.

LaRoi’s music seamlessly blends indie folk, alt-country, and melodic post-rock Americana. Characterized by his signature shimmering tremolo guitar work and a weathered, soulful vocal delivery, his songwriting relies heavily on evocative, snapshot-style lyrics. Rather than traditional linear narratives, his songs often incorporate whimsical wordplay to explore midlife themes such as loss, change, friendship, and mortality.

His album Morning Stars Mournings Hush reached #7 on the national Earshot Folk/Roots chart and has received airplay from CKUA, CBC, and community radio stations across Canada.
