New Live-off-the-floor “Morning Stars Mournings Hush” Video Releases November 7

My new video drops Nov 7 on YouTube and Apple Music — a live-off-the-floor take on “Morning Stars Mournings Hush,” the title track from the album released two months ago. This is the third in my series of live-off-the-floor videos with the Everett LaRoi Band captured at Dept.9 Studios by recording maestro Stew Kirkwood. The video crew was headed up by the ever affable photographer/videographer-extraordinaire Marc Chalifoux.

This song sits at the heart of the record — about loss and renewal, and the slow, quiet but steadfast return to one’s true calling after life has asked you to pause for love, care, and grief.

Fun facts about the video: the rhythm section for the recording sessions is the original bassist and drummer for the legendary Edmonton band Old Reliable: Tom Murray on bass and Mike Silverman on drums. They’re so locked in – it’s a beautiful thing to behold. Meanwhile, my bandmate Alice Kos from our duo Goldtop sings harmony vocals and plays a Nord keyboard on the session.
